Grit, Gears & Graphics: BBX Drives the Action at Tankfest
When it comes to live events, few are as thunderous — or as visually epic — as Tankfest.
Hosted by The Tank Museum in Bovington, it’s the world’s biggest live-action display of historic armored vehicles. For the 2024 edition, BBX Media was proud to be the AV partner behind the action, delivering an immersive, high-impact production that spanned live broadcast, arena-wide audio, and a global gaming livestream in partnership with World of Tanks.
From Roaring Engines to Roaming Cameras
Tankfest isn’t your average outdoor event — it’s a blend of military history, mechanical marvels, and massive crowds. BBX Media brought it all together with a comprehensive AV setup that delivered.
Here’s what we brought to the battlefield:
Roaming Cameras: Our mobile camera ops captured every angle — from tank battles in the arena to interviews with historians and fans. Whether it was dust flying or engines firing, we had it covered.
Arena-Wide Audio: We managed a full outdoor audio system across the event site, ensuring announcements, commentary, and atmosphere reached every corner of the crowd — clean, balanced, and powerful.
Event TV: We produced custom content streamed across the site on big screens, keeping spectators engaged with live feeds, historical insights, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
Leveling Up With World of Tanks
But the action didn’t stop on the field. BBX Media also produced a live-streamed broadcast in collaboration with World of Tanks, bringing Tankfest to a global online audience of gamers, history buffs, and tank enthusiasts.
Hosted by a team of live presenters, the stream blended real-time coverage of the arena with interactive segments, interviews, and exclusive game content — all broadcast with professional-grade switching, graphics, and audio mixing.
We essentially ran a mini live TV studio on-site, syncing our roaming footage with host commentary and timed segments. The result was a smooth, engaging production that gave online viewers front-row access to all the action — whether they were watching from home or halfway across the world.
