BBX and Infinity VR unveil the world’s first onboard VR Rack, launching aboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 as it sails around the world.
At BBX Media, we’re all about delivering experiences — not just AV solutions. So when Infinity VR came to us with an exciting challenge, we knew this wasn’t going to be your average project.
The brief? Build a high-performance VR Rack that could support immersive experiences for their client Cunard, one of the most iconic names in luxury cruising. This system had to be powerful, flexible, and absolutely reliable.
What’s a VR Rack, and Why Does It Matter?
Think of the VR Rack as the brain for immersive experiences. It’s the central point that drives multiple VR headsets, delivering real-time graphics with zero lag. When it’s built right, you don’t think about the tech — you’re just fully in the moment.
Infinity VR & Cunard wanted a solution that could evolve with their needs. Something that would support both crew operations and marketing experiences, without compromise. So we set out to create a system that was as future-proof as it was rock-solid.
Here’s a glimpse at what went into the build:
- High-end GPUs & processors to run multiple VR sessions smoothly
- Enterprise-grade networking for fast, uninterrupted data flow
- Custom cooling & power management, because reliability is everything
- Modular design, making maintenance a breeze
We designed the rack to be compact, efficient, and sea-ready — no unnecessary bulk, just smart engineering.
